| MOTIVE |
With the exception of Kei, Nobuko, and Akio, the food supply for all participants is drugged. They are not informed of any possible alternative food sources and are only informed of the motive after the fact. Kei and Nobuko are given alternative motives and are forbidden from eating food from the diner. Nobuko is told that if she can successfully survive an execution, she and her friends will be released from the dome and the experiment will end. However, Nobuko presumes this to mean "if she kills and can survive execution"; She is not willing to kill anybody, and plots to find an alternative. Kei on the other hand is told that if she can successfully win a trial, the secret of the group behind everyone's kidnappings will be revealed to her in full, and she can give the rest of her friends the chance to survive and escape. She does not plan to do anything with her motive, but chooses to keep it in mind. Akio is exempted by means of him still being stuck in the catacombs; Kei and Nobuko opt to share their food with him so that he doesn't have to eat the diner food. |

| METHOD |
Aoi at first injures Takotsu in self defense, by crushing him under a heavy shelf. After being discovered, Keiichi puts Takotsu out of his misery by shooting him with his own gun. |

Without much chance to explain themselves, Keiichi and Aoi are both sentenced to their shared execution, despite Keiichi having been the one in the end to actually kill Takotsu, and are sent away. However, before it can start, Akio manages to chase them both into it believing he would be able to keep the execution from killing them. |

Due to their injuries from the execution, both Keiichi and Aoi are temporarily rendered comatose and subject to stay in the infirmary until they both wake up. Out of concern, Akio stays with them, effectively abandoning his dorm for the time being . |
